Giving Everyone the Same Quality Healthcare
Keeping you healthy is the responsibility of the primary care physician, and that is the goal for all of our physicians and nurse practitioners. You are not just another number to us. Your medical concerns are our primary focus. We are able to spend unlimited time with you to create a special healthcare plan for you. Other physicians do not have the luxury to do this because their success depends on seeing as many patients as possible. We measure our success by the improvement in the quality of our patient’s health. This is why we take the time to get to know you, and your medical needs.
Dr. Jenny Powell started Direct Primary Care Clinics so everyone could enjoy quality healthcare, whether they had insurance or not. She saw her uninsured patients pay a lot of money for something that shouldn’t cost that much. She watched her patients battle the decision of choosing quality healthcare, or buying groceries! That’s when she made it her goal to bring everyone good, quality preventative care.
The Direct Primary Care membership empowers you to take charge of your own healthcare, with the guidance of a physician you know and trust.
FAQ's
What is “direct primary care”?
Direct Primary Care provides you with all the medical attention you need without anxieties over hassles, like insurance. You have a personal relationship with your physician or nurse practitioner, where you can spend unlimited time discussing your treatment plan. You have direct contact with your physicians, 24/7 via cell phone, email or Skype and you have direct payment between you and your physicians for the care you receive.
What does the membership fee cover?
The fee covers all office visit expenses, including being seen by the physician, a nurse-only visit, lab draws, access to low-cost medications and labs, and in-house office procedures. It gives you a discount on home visits. It provides you with a personal care team of physicians or nurse practitioners who are dedicated to your health and is interested in you as a person. It also gives you 24/7 access to your physicians or nurse practitioners, via multiple avenues.
Will I have to pay a fee for my office visits?
No. The membership fee covers all of your office visits. There is no copay.
With specialty treatments such as joint injections or phlebotomy, you will have to pay a fee or if we have to send your lab or blood work to be analyzed, and even then it will be at a discounted price.
What about medications?
Your care team is here to support you, especially when it comes to your medication. Our physicians or nurse practitioners will help you get the best medicine for you and your unique situation at an affordable price, being as resourceful as possible.
Will you do home visits?
Under certain circumstances, home visits may be the only way you can be seen. If you are interested in a home visit and wonder if your condition would qualify, you will need to speak to one of our staff members.
How does insurance work in all of this?
Insurance should cover all the outside testing, referrals to specialists and hospitalizations you may require. We are not participating in any insurance billing, including Medicare and Medicaid. If you have private insurance, you may be able to get reimbursed for your visits. If you have a Health Savings Account, your membership fee MAY be covered under these savings plans. Check with your plan administrator and/or accountant to determine your benefit eligibility.
What makes this better for people?
What sets Direct Primary Care apart from other clinics is that we are not paid per appointment. When physicians are rushed to go from patient to patient, time requirements can prevent the development of an effective doctor-patient rapport. This rapport fosters good listening, which is required for making accurate diagnoses and formulating an effective treatment plan for you. We remove these time requirements, effectively allowing our physicians or nurse practitioners to spend as much time with you as you need. Ultimately, doctors and patients maintain better relationships, meaning your physicians or nurse practitioners provide you with better care, and you pay a much better price.
Will this mean patients will need to come in more often to “get their money’s worth”?
Our program empowers you to take charge of your own healthcare, with the guidance of a team of physicians or nurse practitioners. We offer an unlimited number of office visits with our memberships to give you more options and the opportunity to see our physicians or nurse practitioners when you need to. It also allows you to have better overall care because your physicians or nurse practitioners are not rushed to get from patient to patient. This doesn’t mean you won’t get your money’s worth if you don’t come in everyday. Most people want to spend as little time as possible dealing with doctors and hospitals. Our memberships provide you all the tools necessary to make informed, healthy decisions, without the worry of any limitations.
